In general...

I was born to an amazing, generous, and loving family in Long Island, New York. With the encouragement of my mother and grandmother, I learned to love writing and story telling at the age of 4. That love grew with age as I went on to earn my BFA in Writing, Literature, and Publishing from Emerson College and my MFA from Sarah Lawrence College.

On Veganism...

While I always had an affinity for animals, it wasn't until 2016 that I developed a passion for them. After spending an entire summer going on tours at a farm sanctuary, I made the surprisingly easy decision to stop exploiting animals. Less than a year later, I was leading my own tours at Catskill Animal Sanctuary, where I learned more about the animal agriculture industries than I'd ever imagined. Steadfast on creating change for my furry and feathered friends, the idea for this blog was born.

On Taking Up Space...

My journey to finding confidence was a long one. Having spent my entire adolescence on diets that didn't work, being bullied at school and at home, I developed a pretty severe anxiety disorder, body dysmorphia, and depression. It took years of surrounding myself with the Body Positive movement before the message began to take hold. I credit a lot of my success to my long time best friend, Cecilia, who introduced me to the idea that Beauty comes in all sizes. Though I consider my journey far from over, I recognize the mental distance I've traveled.
